Cellcrypt Communicator Gateway

Cellcrypt Gateway – A Secure VOIP gateway for IP PBXs

Cellcrypt Gateway creates a secure VOIP connection allowing users to easily complete efficient and effective encrypted voice calls from a Cellcrpyt Communicator Mobile enabled phone to a landline connected to a PBX. The Cellcrypt Communicator Gateway connects to enterprise IP PBXs via SIP. It also enables secure communications from one PBX to another PBX when both have the Cellcrypt Communicator Gateway, allowing a secure call to be made from a landline connected to the PBX by encrypting a voice call when it leaves your company network

Cellcrypt's PBX solution is fast, effective and simple to use and addresses security on multiple levels:

Signalling Encryption

It encrypts the signalling information of a voice call, preventing an eavesdropper to gather information on the phone numbers and id of the participants of a conversation. Sometimes a call pattern analysis attack (who is calling who and when) leaks more information than the content of the calls themselves.

Voice Encryption

A phone call is encrypted on a mobile device and decrypted on the other end.

Key Generation

A unique private key is generated on the user handset during the installation. No other copy exists on another device or server.

Key Exchange

When making or receiving a secure call, the encryption engine verifies the other party, ensures secure keys are valid and generated a session key.

Key features

Legacy network integration

A secure call can be initiated from a landline connected to the corporate PBX. Users can use a unique PIN code to switch to secure and are guided by voice prompts to identify that a secure call and not a regular call is taking place

SIP support for IP PBXs

Cellcrypt PBX gateway connects to all major brands of IP PBXs and supports unencrypted SIP calls in your corporate network to integrate in your Unified Communications strategy.

3G, Wi-Fi, HSPA, GPRS and EDGE

Cellcrypt Communicator supports different transport layers to transfer a secure VOIP call. This flexibility provides maximum coverage and allows a cellular connection to switch to the most cost-effective solution available.

System Requirements

Linux

CCore, the Cellcrypt Encryption Engine

Cellcrypt Communicator is shipped with a powerful Encryption Engine called CCore.

During the installation process and generate random numbers from random sources to generate the key material required to complete a secure call. This approach ensures complete privacy.

Making first call between two phones

Cellcrypt has been designed to minimize any change in users behaviour. Cellcrypt Calls require a prefix and then the required users mobile phone or landline number. The first call between any two Cellcrypt devices (handsets and PBX gateways) requires an exchange of public keys and validation, which takes a few seconds longer than the validation-only process in subsequent calls. Once validation is complete the voice channel automatically opens. At this point the call is guaranteed secure.

Benefits

Historically, placing a secure voice call required a proprietary hardware device, user training, little luck and a lot of patience. First generation secure voice products capture the voice stream, encoded the captured audio and then sent it digitally to an identical device using a legacy 2G GSM Protocol called Circuit Switched Data.

These first products solved the issue of voice security but had three major draw backs:

  • High latency;
  • International inoperability; and
  • Required a tolerant and highly trained user.

Cellcrypt has broken through these barriers with the Cellcrypt Communicator secure voice suite, providing a secure voice solution that is easy to use, with low latency, that works anywhere.
